Art 361, Critical Issues in Contemporary Art Practice Open to all students interested in discovery and dialogs in the visual arts and culture.
This new course, taught by Eric Fredericksen, Director of Western Bridge will survey critical ideas in contemporary art practice. Weekly lectures by internationally recognized visiting artists introduce a wide range of artistic positions and practices. Course content will be responsive to emerging issues raised by visiting artists and the instructor. Topics for Spring 2011 include discussions about the influence of sub-cultural forms and practices in art, social practices and the role of contemporary art education.

- Class meets Wed 5:30 – 8:20 pm in Savory 260 with discussion sections on Friday in the Art building.
