The Ruesink Lab (http://depts.washington.edu/jlrlab/) is actively searching for two research technicians for the period of June-September 2010 to assist in data collection and experimental manipulations in the Willapa Bay estuary. Job duties will include plankton and water sample collection, bivalve (oyster and clam) collection and dissection, set-up and operation of bivalve recruitment monitoring, and boat operation. Successful candidates will have experience in microscopy, strong enthusiasm for field work, and solid recommendations. Previous experience in boat handling, tideflat walking and organic gardening are a plus. These are full-time paid positions (hourly UW employees) and include free housing and meals in Nahcotta, WA. Preference will be given to individuals who are planning to pursue graduate studies and are looking for opportunities to perform original research leading to publication.
