Paid – REU Research – Summer

Dear Undergrads –

The National Science Foundation funds a program call “Research Experience for Undergraduates”.  There are MANY REU spots around the U.S. and it’s a great way to have a summer research experience that is structured and usually PAID….. You can search for opportunities at:

http://www.nsf.gov/crssprgm/reu/index.jsp

They all have different application deadlines, so I suggest you look them over soon.  By the way, you’ll also want to pay close attention to program dates.  If you’re in classes in spring, you will likely find it difficult to start a program in May, so you should look for June start dates (this is usually dependent upon whether the university where the REU is located is on the quarter or semester system.)

REU’s are also a GREAT way to investigate graduate school options and get to know faculty at those schools, which would increase your admissions chances!

Good luck!
